Rome was located along the Tiber river in Italy. It was in the middle of the Mediterranean sea and on a peninsula shaped like a boot.

The myth of Romulus and Remus is that they were born twins, the son of Mars. The king ordered for them to be drowned but a wolf saved and raised them. When they grew up they founded Rome and in a dispute over who would rule the city Romulus killed Remus and named the city Rome.
Influence of Greek Architecutre
The Romans were influenced by the Etruscans engineering. One form of the engineering they were influenced by and adapted was the arch. The arch was built with two pillars and wedge shaped stones with a keystone to hold it together.
Influence of Greek Religion, Writing, and Art
The Romans were influenced by the Etruscan sport of slave fighting. Slave fighting is also what Romans called, Gladiators. They would put slaves together and force them to fight.
The Romans used the Greek architecture design of columns. They used columns during building a lot. They used columns in many temples and buildings such as the Pantheon in Rome.
The Romans adapted the Greek religion for themselves. They adapted many of the Greek gods as their own but gave them Roman names.
