- Hey, I don't think I am ready for the gravity test tomorrow do you think you could help me? I am confused.
- Yes, I can help you after school!
- For example, if the car was stopped on a steep hill, it could start rolling down the hill. This is because gravity pulls objects towards the Earth. The force of gravity is strong because the mass of the car is big.
- Okay, that makes a little bit of sense.
- Do you want some water?
- Sure!
- First, when you pour water, it falls down into the cup. It does this because of gravity. If we didn't have gravity, the water could float around in the air. Instead, it goes down into the cup because gravity is pulling it closer to the Earth's center.
- Woah, I didn't know that.
- Here's a good one! When you throw a ball in the air, it will eventually come down to the ground because the force of gravity is pulling it.
- Ok, I will throw it and see if gravity pulls it down.
- Wow, gravity really did pull the basketball closer the Earth's center. I really understand it now, thanks!
