Julius Ceaser was a Roman citizen born into a patrician family. He was a man of the people and was a very good public speaker.this led to him gaining power and money.
Julius becomes the governor of what is now known as Spain. His 2 friends, Pompey and Crassus helped him maintain power. Then Ceaser goes on to conquer the rest of the land of Gaul, spreading news of his accomplishments back home, making him even more popular.
After besting Pompey Julius assumes the positiom of absolute power in Rome. He made all the decisions in the backround while allowing the Senate to still be the face of the government.
Some of the Senators had grown tired of Caesers reign. His position had taken power away from the Senate thus making them inferior. This affected the wealth of the members of the Senate. Among them was Brutus, Caesers adoptive son.
After planning it for several days the Senate decided that the reign of Caesar had coem to an end. On March 15 44 BC a group of Senate members surrounded Julius and killed him,
After Caeser died there was a power void. Someone needed to step up and take the handle of emporor. His adopted son, Octavian would vie for the position and eventually become Romes first official Emporor. Afterwards the Pax Romana began and Rome prospered.
