The conflicts of this story is that the person who ultimately kills the old man can not stand to see his vulture eye, and questions that it has made him mad. He goes a long way to kill the man. He went absolutely mental about his master plan and ended up ratting himself out
One literary device used in this story is imagery because the narrator describes how the old man's vulture eye was evil. Another device used in it was symbolism because the evil eye is blue with a "film" or "veil"
WHAT I WOULD ALTER
I would alter the mental state of the killer. For example I would make him schizophrenic so when the police questioned him he would have a slew of thoughts and for sure go crazy. That would make the story a bit more interesting
QUESTIONS FOR POE
The biggest question I would ask Poe is how are you able live with the fact that you have lost so many loved ones due to the same illness? I mean sure you cope with it by writing, but from reading his stories I am questioning your ability to think strait from the massive amounts of trauma and sadness.
