Why were Spies and codes in World War 1 and 2 important.
Spies were very important, especially during this time period. Many spies were women and men. It was really hard to find a spy because they were either very sneaky or couldn't tell them apart from a regular person.
A spies main purpose was go gather Intel and information on the enemy. They walked around enemy territory and after they found information, they reported it to their government.
Thank you for the info.
After the government received the information, they decide if they would trust them or not and make plans to attack the enemy during a time of war or anything where a spy is needed.
Codes were also very important. Codes are secret messages usually in a time of war. These were sent back and forth between certain sides of the war and used them so the enemy could not figure it out.
OOOH what's this? A secret letter ?
