Its really up to you, there are many different types out there each with different uses and benefits
What do you mean uses?
Credit cards have different annual rates called APR, penalty fees, and point benefits. Some credit cards are used to get milage points or cash-back.
Try to choose a credit card not just for the benefits but also for the price, even though you get points you might end up paying a really high annual fee. Also pay attention to the penalty fees and rates, with your history you want to be careful and don't want to end up with a super high APR.
What else should I know?
Woah! Thats a lot, I think i'll go with this one from Universe Bank, it has no annual fees, a $15.46 APR and a penalty APR of $20.46, i also get 5% cashback!
Thats awesome! Good find, now when you get your credit card make sure you are very responsible, go over you expenses in your credit card statement to make sure you aren't behind on any bills. Your stement will tell you about your fees and everything you've spent on.
Any other tips to help me out?
Try not to spend too much because even though you don't need the money right away, you are spending future money, start off with just keeping the account active and pay it off right away.
Im just kidding!!
Thank you so much! Maybe I can finally get that house I want!
Wait a second! Start off small, keep track of everything and maybe when you have everything under control you can start making bigger purchases.
