Persians Vs. Greeks
Marathon, 490 BC
The Greek city-states had a less number then the Persians. Although, because of their Phalanx, they were almost impossible to get through.
Our Phalanx and hoplites are working we're undefeatable
down so they can have There was a traitor on the Greeks side and he told the Persians a way they could get to the Greeks without being caught. When the Greeks found out about this they decided to send 300 Spartans to slow the Persians down so they can have enough time to get some ships ready for the battle.
Thermopylae, 480 BC
A traitor told the Persians a way around the pass!
Well will send 300 Spartans over to slow them down so we can have time to prepare the ships
Salamis, 480 BC
This battle was won by the Greeks because of their smart thinking. They used small ships so they can trap the Persians
They are going to walk right into out trap! Their ships are too big to get out of this one.
Yeah! Our ships are smaller and faster.
Plataea, 479 BC
The battle of Plataea was the last battle of the Persian War. The Greek city-states beat Xerxes remaining army. After the Persian War, Persia remained a strong and large civilization, and Greece was independent.
We lost!! :(
Both Athens and Sparta claim credit fro the win, which then leads to problems. Sparta was still weak after Thermopylae. Athens emerges as the most powerful city-state (bully). Athens makes alliances to protect of the Persians came back. Athens then starts to rebuild.
