- okey so get to rest as much as possile. Control the fever. Give acetaminophen also known as paracetamol to control fever and relieve pain. Always follow the instructions on the product lael. Do not give iuprofen aspirin or aspirin-containing medicines. Wet your skin with a cold water sponge to ring down the fever. Prevent dehydration. Dehydration occurs when a person loses too much ody fluid due to fever vomiting or not drinking enough fluids.
