  • Temples, palaces, and buildings were bigger and more elegant so express their beliefs and values in their society. Greek architecture was the most used in this era.
  • Mathematical advancements were made such as the heliocentric earth theory, and the lever and pulley. Pythagoras, Euclid, and Aristarchus were some of the people who led this era by example.
  • Hippocrates studied cures and causes of illnesses. He set ethical standards for doctors, such as privacy, respect for patients, etc.
  • Alexander left behind for us a spread of the Greek culture and he also influenced ideas about law, freedom, and justice to later politicians.
  • The culture was a mix of Egyptian, Indian, Persian, and Greek. Zeno invented Stoicism which wanted people to avoid desires and disappointments.
  • Women in this era learned to read and write, and some eventually became poet or philosophers. Respect for women and importance towards them increased.
