ELOs are This is something different, entirely. [exciting music, with compilation of various ELO footage] Instead of afterschool programs being a way to pass the time, students, now, find themselves immersed in a whole new world of learning through fun, hands-on experiences that help them to succeed in the classroom and beyond. [kid sad about having to go home]
With 541,481 Florida students alone and unsupervised after school, afterschool programs are needed more than ever.
Enriched afterschool programming not only benefits children and youth, it helps families as well. 84% of Florida families say that afterschool programs help them to keep their jobs. 89% of Florida parents support public funding for afterschool. One in three children in Palm Beach County is on their own between the time the school-bell rings and the time their parents get home.
So why ELOs? The real question should be why not. We're all in, how about you? [Blah blah blah,bring the statistics full circle, etc.] Why afterschool, you say? The real question should be, why not?
