Storyboard Text

  • [boring music] [Kids napping and/or looking bored] When people think about afterschool, they often think about naps or other low-maintenance forms of childcare.
  • ELOs are This is something different, entirely. [exciting music, with compilation of various ELO footage] Instead of afterschool programs being a way to pass the time, students, now, find themselves immersed in a whole new world of learning through fun, hands-on experiences that help them to succeed in the classroom and beyond. [kid sad about having to go home]
  • With 541,481 Florida students alone and unsupervised after school, afterschool programs are needed more than ever.
  • Enriched afterschool programming not only benefits children and youth, it helps families as well. 84% of Florida families say that afterschool programs help them to keep their jobs. 89% of Florida parents support public funding for afterschool. One in three children in Palm Beach County is on their own between the time the school-bell rings and the time their parents get home.
  • So why ELOs? The real question should be why not. We're all in, how about you?  [Blah blah blah, bring the statistics full circle, etc.] Why afterschool, you say? The real question should be, why not?
