December 16, 1773-Bostonians make a last attempt to try and convince governor Hutchinson to send the tea shipment back, but their efforts are futile. samuel adams declares "This meeting can do nothing more to save this country"

December 16,1773 early evening-While leaving the church a group of people shouted "Boston harbor a tea-pot tonight! The Mohawks are come!"

Between 6 p.m and 9 p.m. a group of men dressed as Mohawk Indians throw 342 chests of tea overboard into the Boston harbor; the approximate cost of the tea was £10,000.
