  • I'm James Madison, the president of the United States. I will be telling you about the War of 1812
  • Impressment and Native America resistance were two of the three causes of the war...
  • Oliver Hazard Perry commanded the U.S. Navy. After two hours of battling between them and the British, their ship sunk, so they had fled to another one and destroyed the British ships. The British traveled to Canada, with General William H. Harrison following them. At the Battle of Thames, Harrison helped defeat them, leaving the place in our control.
  • After British claimed its victory against France, they pressed on to fight with us, America. Britain then began blockading our coasts. They traveled to Washington D.C. and burned down my home and our white house. A man named Francis Scott K. McHenry witnessed the bombardment of Ft. McHenry within Baltimore, Maryland, where America won. He had written our national Anthem.
  • Britain then attacked the New Orleans, hoping to gain control of American's use  of
