  • I do not allow this! You all are suspended! Go to the principal's office!

  • CJ attended a political protest and lost class time.
  • CJ began to leave the classroom to attend a political protest
  • Principal's Office
  • The teacher and student were unaware the attending a political protest was allowed. Therefore the teacher sends CJ to the principal. However, CJ continued to attend the protest.
  • Principal's Office
  • No! For this he will be suspended for a week!
  • CJ and CJ's mom were called into the principal's office to discuss CJ's punishment for attending the protest.
  • Principal's Office
  • CJ's mom was wondering if CJ had gotten only detention or suspension for this act.
  • What is the punishment for him then, detention?
  • CJ's mom was surprised that he was suspended and that the school is going against CJ's student rights.
  • The principal is confused that CJ can't be suspended for attending a protest even if he missed several minutes of class time during the protest.
  • That is outrageous and against the education code! He can't be suspended for missing school
