The life of a Roman Slave Pt. 2 : Vel B.
This storyboard does not have a description.
If I earn and save enough money, which is extremely rare, I can pay my way out of slavery and become a freedmen, in which I become a patron for my master
Since I am in the lowest class, I am expected to follow all of my masters orders, which means I do not have time for free time. Slaves have the hardest lives in the Roman empire. This leads to many slaves running away from their owners.
Rome forbade the harboring of fugitive slaves, slave-catchers were hired to hunt runaways. Ads were posted with descriptions of the runaways, and offered rewards. If caught, fugitives could be whipped, burned or killed. Those who lived were branded on the forehead with the letters FUG, for fugitives. Sometimes slaves had a metal collar riveted around the neck.
