  • The Great Depression started in 1929 caused by the stock market crash. Many people would lose their jobs and become homeless.

  • Another thing that caused the great depression was the dust bowl which made farmers move to the city because there plant could not grow anymore.

  • Because of the stock market crash many people started to discriminate women who had jobs and African Americans. many people started groups to join in racist acts against minorities. there was around 1000 people protesting.

  • many people did not like African Americans. stores refused to hire African Americans. Approximately half of black Americans were out of work.
  • workers lost their jobs and because of that banks started to lose money which then caused banks to close. because of banks closing many people that had their money in banks lost their money.

  • because many people lost their jobs. many family's became homeless and around 15 million people were unemployed. women who had jobs that they had gotten because of the men that were going to war had to give up their jobs to give the men.with no jobs or money families could not afford anything.
