Salva is told that he is too young to join the army. He is told to join the women and children's group. Salva goes with them.
The women and children's group decides to sleep in a barn. Overnight Salva gets left behind by the women and children's group. Salva sleeps the rest of the night without knowing they left him.
Salva wakes up in the barn without his group. Salva realizes that they left him behind. Salva meets an old woman who lets him stay at the barn for a few days. But Salva has to do chores for the woman in return for letting him stay.
