My dear, eating beans produce H2O2, and this toxic product need NADPH.H+ to convert to water, the main mechanism for get NADPH.H is HMP pathway. In this glucose-6-P convert to 6-phosphoglucono-6-lactone by G6PDH, then to 6-phosphogluconate by lactonase ,finally to D-Ribulose-5-P by 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase. This mechanism is blocked in case of favism.
