Storyboard Text

  • Our subject for our 2C notes is "Gravity and Motion".
  • For these notes we had to talk about Newton's Laws of Universal Gravitation.
  • Newton's first Law of Motion states "That an object will remain at rest or moving at a constant velocity unless it is acted upon by an unbalanced force.
  • Average Speed: The speed of most moving objects is not constant.
  • Vector: A quantity that consists of both a magnitude and a direction.
  • Velocity: Speed in a given direction.
  • Gravity: Every object in the universe attracts every other object. Gravity attract all objects toward each other.
  • Mass is the amount of matter in an object. Weight is a force caused by Gravity.
  • Newton's Law of Universal Science: The strength of gravity is affected by the distence between two objects as well as their masses.
  • Newton concluded that two factors, Inertia and gravity, combine to keep Earth in orbit around the Sun and the Moon in orbit around the Earth.
