James Booker was famous for the creation of his unique piano style. This style combined elements of rhythm and blues, jazz, ragtime and classical music. From this invention he achieved nicknames such as "Piano Prince of New Orleans" Or "Bayou Maharajah" And "Black Liberace". Because he was a skilled piano player he also got the name "spiders on the keys".
