  • Abraham was a person of God's original people, He came from a family where they had strong connections with God, God choose Abram to be a Patriarch of the Jewish faith. God made a covenant with Abram, Abram and his wife Sarah were in their late 90s but God gave them a son, named Issac. Issac and his wife Rebekah gave birth to twins, named Jacob and Esau. Jacob carried on Abram and Issac's faith to God.   
  • Moses was chosen by God to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land. Moses went to the Egyptian Pharaoh and got the Israelites out of slavery. The Israelites wondered the desert, after 40 days God called to Moses again and told him to tell the Israelites (Ex 19). Moses was dedicated to find the Promise Land for God's people, he committed 40 years of his life to finding this land. Moses died with the sight of the Promise Land in his eyes. 
  • we finally get to go home!
  • King Saul was the first king, he was a brave man but weak. King Saul became King with the help of Samuel's sayings. Saul's daughter married David who become king after Saul's death. David was a great king who wanted great things for his people. he an his wife had a son named Solomon. Solomon became king after his father death and he made the temple his father wanted. He ruled his people differently than his father, which people did not like.

  • The Assyrians took over the empire of Israel, many of the Israelites were forced into exile. The Assyrians brought outsiders into the empire. The Chaldeans over took Judah, the Israelites were allowed to keep their king as long as they paid tribute. Years later the Israelites an the Egyptians teamed up to rebelled against the Chaldeans .The Chaldeans king was ruthless and made the Jews lives miserable.
  • During the time of the Jews Babylonian exile they've renewed their faith with God, the Israelites religion was called Judaism. The Israelites didn't see this as a punishment but as God reminding them why they were chosen. In Babylon the Persians came and fought with the Chaldeans, the Persians won the battle. Persian king Cryus let the Jews go back to Judah, the Persians didn't let the Jews have their own government so the Jews had to rely on religious leaders.
  • Israel and Judah was overrun by the Greeks, it was renamed Palestine. The Greek king Alexander the Great let the Jews live in Palestine, introduced the Greek ways to them. Later the Greek empire was at battle with the Romans, The Romans won the Navy Battle. This cracked peace with the Jews and Greeks, the Jews started war with the Greeks. The Jews lost the Maccabean war but got Hanukkah out of the war, they celebrate it in a temple once a year.
