First session of Positive Puberty. I wanted to crawl into the carpet and disappear. Why is this happening?! This was how I felt at the beginning of the session. By the end I was starting to think it might not be so bad.
Writing about Jesse Owens
Everyone was super quiet during Kapa Haka practice on Friday. The boys were on the left and the girls on the right. We learned the singing part that goes along with the UTAINA haka.
Mrs Barnes began to teach us the rest of our Sasa dance for the Michael Fowler Centre performance on the 20th September. The trickiest part was learning to turn within the beats of 8.
How did I do this week?
This week we investigated the athlete Jesse Owens. I learned that because he was dark skinned he wasn't accepted by his peers at school or university. He wasn't allowed to eat or sleep in the same places as white people. He also broke many Olympic records.
This week I discovered that my old students missed me which made me feel happy. Next week I need to finish my science unit for the rotations. I am proud of myself for helping other teachers with the school values because it I made their job a little easier.
