  •  The Giver's society is full of people with all the same clothes, skin color, and everyone follows the rules, so everything is perfect. There is no difference. Picture down below
  • Perfect Society 
  • Example: In The Giver, Jonas's community is full of dwellings that look the same. 
  • In The Giver, Jonas's society is full of uniformity. Everyone in his community is all the same. There is no one that is unique. 
  • Uniformity
  • Jonas is in a community that has people who don't use words like love, family, and hate. Jonas has a society were people are all treated the same and no one is different.
  • In The Giver, Jonas's society is always being watched. His community if full of cameras in every corner. 
  • Citizens Under Surveillance
  • Example: When Jonas took an apple from the snack area, he was reminded by a camera that people should not take food from the snack area. 
  • In  The Giver, Jonas society if full of people who can never have their own thoughts. 
  • No Independent Thought
  • Example: Jonas and other children in his society have to take pills so they don't have certain dreams and feelings.  
  • In Jonas's society, his government has The Elders who chose jobs for everyone. Also, his government has many strict rules. 
  • Oppressive Government
  • Example: The Elders chose who you marry and what your job is. Jonas was chosen as The Receiver. 
  • In this society, the community is not allowed to decide anything for them self. 
  • Lack of Free Will
  • Example: Everyone in Jonas's community can not chose what they wear. 
  • ALL CITIZENS MUST WEAR ASSIGNED CLOTHING.
