Arminta (Minty) Ross was born on a farm in Bucktown, Maryland sometime around 1822. She was born into slavery.
When Harriet was around 12 years old her master threw a heavy iron weight at a slave suspected to escape. The weight accidentally hit Minty's head and knocked her out.
Harriet Escapes with her two brothers on September seventeenth, 1949! Her brothers freaked out and force her to turn back, so Harriet escapes again. This time alone.

Harriet has had a very successful life. She worked for the Union the Underground railroad and led nearly 600 slaves to freedom! She even organized a few rebellions against slave owners. She will be remembered for her bravery and compassion.
Harriet passes away peacefully in her home in Auburn at age 91.
