  • Salutary Neglect  1696-1763
  • The King has given us new laws and more taxes 
  • This was not what my people came here for!
  • This is outrageous!
  • Treaty of Paris 1763
  • RETREAT!!!
  • Quartering Act 1765
  • Wait! why are their more troops!
  • Alright bring 'em in!
  • England  taking care of business inside their country they had not focus on the colonies. the colonist were disobeying laws so when England pointed their focus back to the colonist they enforced new laws. 
  • Stamp Act Congress 1765
  • we have a new tax law
  • The British gained the area West of the British colonies to the Mississippi River. The French agreed  to no longer support any colonies in North America.  Spanish gave up their claim to Florida but retained territory west of the Mississippi River and in Central and South America.  
  • Sons of Liberty Formed 1765
  • The Quartering   Act  made it so that every colonist had to have a solider  accessible to their homes. The colonist were not very happy with this so they set up a congress to protest.
  • Boston Massacre 1770
  • In 1765,  the king  gave the colonist taxes that were on small things like paper. It was small but it added up  over time and was on a lot of their everyday goods. The colonists obviously were upset and gathered together to repeal it. 
  • UGH!!!
  • The group was formed to protect  the rights of the colonists and to take to the streets against the abuses of the British government. 
  • During the Boston Massacre the colonist protested against the British, that quickly turned violent when the colonist threw objects. The British then let fire and killed a few people.
