Jared and Casey are two best friends. They always play and run and have fun together. But before we get to far into this story, lets introduce them first with Jared. Jared has lived in this town all his life and knows everybody. And although he is a very good kid, he gets in deep trouble a lot at school. And he gets very angry about it.
We also have our friend, Casey. Casey is a good kid who gets great grades and loves books, and always study with Jared to get Jared's grades better. And Casey always talks to teachers when he needs help, and always uses the sandbox at recess.
Normally, the two boys got along, but today was different. Out at lunch recess, the boys played tag by the sandbox, when Jared tried on the end, but Jared blamed it on Casey, and Casey laughed. But Jared got upset, so he said that he didn't want to be Casey's friend anymore. This made Casey sad.
Casey tried to apologize, but Jared wouldn't listen, and he went to find a new friend, and by the time recess ended, he did. Jared ditched poor Casey in their sandbox for a new friend. And this made Casey cry till recess ended. He watched them play in the sandbox.
During Reading Time, Casey decided to find a new friend, too. And he did right away. But for some reason, this made Jared jealous, and Casey liked that. So Casey rubbed it in, until he had an idea that could settle this argument.
The two boys talked...
Compromise is where both sides give up a value to reach an even agreement.
I don't even know what that is!!
Cant we just compromise, Jared??
