Marie's Two Moms and why they should not be judged ❤️
There once was a young girl named Marie. She had two moms. She loved her moms very much and her moms each other very much. Marie’s moms identify as lesbians.
One day after Marie was dropped off at school and one boy was very confused. "Are those your parents?" he asked. "Yes." replied Marie, nodding. “Well who is the boy and who is the girl?” he said. “Neither of them are boys. They are both girls. Those are my moms.” Marie said.
“Thats not normal. That doesn't exist!! That’s weird. All kids have a mommy and a daddy!” The boy seemed angry now.
Marie stayed very calm. "Well I have two moms and I know I am not the only one who does. Some people even have two dads. It is normal. My moms love me and I love them. Isn't that all that matters? We have been talking about feminism in class and “it’s completely the same thing” Steinem 2012). Lesbians are not treated equally because of who they love. ”
"Wow. Yes you are right. I am so sorry I was rude to you. Your moms seem very nice and I should not have judged them for who they love. I did not know this was normal. Thank you for explaining that to me."
