  • King Louis called meetings of the Estates General to talk about the problems with the three estates.Any decisions made from the three estates would affect the revolution and it meant there were new taxes made which wasnt fair for everyone.
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen
  • EQUAL RIGHTS SHOULDNT BE A PROBLEM!!
  • After the three estates called themselves the National Assembly they moved to an indoor tennis court because they were scared that the king would let them go. They took an oath which help them towards democracy.
  • March on Versailles / Reign of Terror/Committee of Public Safety

  • The Storming of the Bastille represents how monarchy was taken advantage of. 800 Parisians killed the commander but found no weapons. This served as a challenge to the existence of the regime but was a day that France celebrated every year as their national independence day.

  • The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen was a document written in 1793. It was similar to the U.S Declaration of Independence that was written in 1775. Which means that all men shall be declared equal.
  • 6000 women marched from paris to Versailles the demanded for bread and to see the king. Most of their angry was towards Marie Antoinette since she was living in luxury. They agreed to go back to paris only if the king went back with them and he did which was a step towards democracy for being able to bring him back.  /Robespierre was a chief architects of the Reign of Terror.Instead of an ax Dr.Joseph G
  • With the French Revolution going on politicians felt threatened by all the drama. They turned to Napoleon and planned to use him to advance their own goals. However Napoleon would outsmart them and become the ruler of France./ He wrote the Napoleonic Code to reform France. It promised equality for all parents power over children and fixed economy. Napoleon could not be removed from power and did not give women rights.
