this is a project for science that is showing what mitosis
the first step of mitosis is inter phase. in the first step you start off with the parent cell which at one point will become two daughter cells. you have 23 pairs chromosomes that are represented by the colored lines. inter phase is the longest phase because, it has three steps in it. During the second part of interphase the cell starts to reproduce itself

The second step of mitosis is prophase, during this phase the centrals (the pick circle) move to opposite sides of the cell from each other. Another thing that happens is that the spindal fibers form (the grey lines). Finally the nuclear envelope is breaking down. Preparing the for the next phase.
the third phase is called metaphase, during this phase the chromosomes line up across the center of the cell. Now each chromosome is attached to a spindal fiber at its centromere. In this phase the nuclear enveloped has fully dissolved.
the fourth phase of the cell cycle is the Anaphase. during this phase the chromosomes start to move away from each other, but the chromosomes aren't whats making it pull apart. what is pulling it apart is the chromatin which is attached to the chromosomes.
the fifth phase of the cell cycle is Telophase, during this phase the chromosomes have gathered to the opposite ends o the cell. the spindal fibers have fully disappeared. now that the cells are starting to split fully, new nuclear envelopes have formed around the chromosomes.
We have reached the final phase of the cell cycle, this phase is called cytokinesis. in this phase we have reached the step when the one cell has become two, also known as daughter cells. these two cells have identical chromosomes as each other.
