Jack symbolizes dictatorship. "Jack rose from the log that was his throne and sauntered to the edge of the grass (golding 150). Jack represents dictatorship because he left Ralphs group and made his own. The people he had in his group were controlled by him. He ordered people to do stuff. Another example is when they tied up wilfred. He ordered Roger to do it without being questioned of his actions. Overall Jack is a dictator because he takes away peoples life and controls their actions with no one controlling his.
Roger symbolizes Evil. Roger showed signs of evil at the beginning of the story. The biggest example at the beginning was when he was throwing rocks at Henry. While the story moved on Roger became more evil due to Jacks leadership. By the end of the story Roger started to enjoy others pain. For example when he was talking to the other boys about wilfred it said "he's been - he giggled excitedly - he's been tied for hours, waiting" (Golding159). Also at the end of the story Roger killed Piggy with the rocks. This shows that Roger is a good fit for being symbolized as evil.
The signal fire was a very important thing for the boys. It symbolized as rescue for the boys. Not only did it represent rescue it also represents connection with civilization. At the beginning of the book they already knew that a fire would mean rescue. Also it would mean one of the only ways to connect with society. At the beginning it states "There's another thing, we can help them find us. If a ship comes near the island they may not notice us. So we must make smoke on top of the mountain. We must make a fire." (Golding 38). As the story went on the boys forgot about the fire, and civilization. That is why the fire is important to Ralph because without it he feels that Jack is the really civilization when that is false.
"Fancy thinking the beast was something you could hunt and kill!" (Golding 143) This quote symbolizes the Lord of the Flies because, the lord of the flies is in all of the boys, it is the evil inside them, Satan is The Lord of The Flies. It is not something you can just kill like a pig .
"Simon's dead body moved out toward the open sea."(Golding 154). The ocean symbolizes a barrier isolating them from the civilized world. Simon was one of the few kids that were still civilized and once he dies, the ocean takes him away.
"a knot of boys, making a great noise that he had not noticed, were heaving and pushing at a rock. As he turned, the base cracked and the whole mass toppled into the sea so that a thunderous plume of spray leapt halfway up the cliff."(Golding 107) the rocks symbolize, destruction. Whenever the kids use rocks, they use them for a destructive purpose, when Roger used the rocks to throw by the little kids and when Roger let that rock roll knocking Piggy off the cliff and killing him.
