  • Lack of independent thought
  • (Has Thought)
  • BEEEEEPNo using your brain as an unfair advantage.
  • Lack of free will
  • Uniformity
  • In this society, that are smart or strong, have handicaps. George who is smart, has a buzzer in his head that goes off to stop him from thinking. They do this because they think it's an "unfair advantage"
  • Perfect Society
  • Everything is fine.
  • The ballerinas had to put ugly masks over they're head. This was because they were unfairly pretty. So in this world you can't have anything above anyone.
  • Citizens under surveillence
  • Harrison Bergeron was put in jail for plots to overthrow the government. He is only 14. He was giving a lot of handicaps and still needs more because he has to be equal with others
  • Mostly everybody has been brainwashed to thinking that the world they live in is fine. They also think that how it was before was worse when everybody had freedom. The society in this book makes it seem like it really is the perfect world to them.
  • On this they didn't directly say it in the story but you can tell they did this because they need to know how strong they are so they get the right handicaps. Also they need to know if they're planning to overthrow them. Kinda far fetched but yeah.
