Storyboard Text

  • Hello, and welcome to our farm. We will show what life was like being a ancient Greek farmer.
  • Behind us is most of our farmland, Greece is known for it's mountains which take up 3/4 of the land, so we don't have much.
  • We are obviously not at the farm anymore. We decided to show you what most of Greece was, Hills and mountains. One of the challenges farmers faced was mountains. You need pretty flat land to farm. Farmers have overcome this problem by carving steps into the mountains to farm on.
  • Farmers also would grow crops that needed less land.
  • There were no rivers and very rocky soil. This made it hard to grow crops.
  • To solve this problem, farmers raised sheep (provided wool) and goats (milk and cheese).
  • Because of Greece's shortage of farmland eventually led to fights, we also fixed that too, by starting a colony.
