we're not like other people. I got you and you got me.
THE BUNK HOUSE
We travel around together...
THE OLD MAN
We can have are dream!
George and Lennie talk about their dream to get a ranch together, with rabbits of course and live what is basically a version of the American dream.
SHE HAS A DREAM TOO
You think I wanted to be here. I was gonna be a star.
After they leave the river George and Lennie get to the bunk house of the ranch they work at. They meet a lot of people that find it very odd to have a friend or someone to talk to.
THE DEATH OF A DREAM
What about the ranch George?
Candy, the old swamper on the ranch overhears George and Lennie talking about the dream and wants in. He has money saved up and offers to help buy the ranch and work there. Suddenly the dream seems a lot like less like a dream and more like reality.
THE END OF MICE
You got me...
and I got you, right George?!
The bosses sons wife starts talking about her dream. She was going to be a movie star, but her dream got ruined by her mother not letting her leave.
George finds the sons wife dead. He knows Lennie did it and he can't save him anymore. Candy asks him about the dream, but for George, Lennie was the dream.
George finds Lennie at the river, he tells him to look at the river while he talks about the dream and the rabbits. He doesn't want Lennie to suffer so he shoots him. George shot his American dream right in the head.
