Long ago two boys named Phaethon and Epaphus were racing on a cliffside.Phaethon won the race in the end, which made Epaphus really mad.Epaphus then felt the need to bring up that his father was an all powerful god.
I can't wait to see the look on Epaphus's face when he see's me.
After Epaphus told Phaethon stories of his father and all the gifts he's been given. Phaethon lied about visiting his father and learning to drive the sun chariot and that his father promised that the next time he visited him he would let him drive the sun chariot.

Phaethon then starts his journey to the Eastern palace where his father lived. After days of walking without food and water Phaethon passes out.Apollos Sun hawks found Phaethon and took him to the eastern Palace. When they arrived at the palace Phaethon asked for a favor. Apollo told him he would do anything in his power to help him.
Resolution & Theme
When Phaethon was riding the chariot he realized the people on earth would only see the sun and not him.So he decided to fly the Sun chariot closer to earth.The village immediately caught on fire when Phaethon saw this he flew the horses higher.But he flew them to high and everything froze.
Zeus from mount Olympus could see all the death and destruction.He hurled his lightning bolt at Phaethon and it stabbed through his chest.He died immediately and his body plumeted down to earth.

Apollo, incapable of comforting his two daughters, turned them into trees and their tears turning into the sap that the tree released.
