  • Bert the Turtle was a cartoon that taught kids what to do if a missile fell near them. After watching the video, the kids would practice the drill. Although in my opinion, it wouldn't have been very effective.
  • Direct Phone Hotline
  • The USSR had missiles and missile construction camps in Cuba building missiles to bomb the U.S.
  • Announcing the Compromise
  • We will be relieving  tensions with the U.S.S.R. very soon.
  • The U.S. and the Soviets eventually reached an agreement on the Cuban Missile Crisis.
  • Removing Missiles
  • The Soviets removed missiles from Cuba.
  • A direct phone line from the U.S. to Russia, (Still the U.S.S.R.) was set up to prevent another tense situation.
  • J.F.K. went on TV to announce their plan to appease the situation.
  • The U.S. and the Soviets then began to remove nuclear missiles in Turkey and Cuba.
  • The U.S. had to remove missiles from Turkey.
