  • EXPOSITION
  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • In the beginning there was only empty darkness. The only thing in this world  was Nyx, a bird with black wings. With the wind, she laid a golden egg and she sat the egg for ages. Finally life begins then the egg starts to hatch and out of it was Eros, the god of love. One half of the shell rose into the air  and became the sky and the other became the Earth. Eros named sky Uranus and the Earth he named Gaea. Then Eros made them fall in love.
  • CLIMAX
  • Uranus was not a good father, or husband. He hated  the Hecatoncheires and imprisoned them  in Gaea's womb.  This angered Gaea, and she plotted against Uranus by getting the youngest Titan, Cronus, to overthrow him.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • Cronus became the next ruler, but became paranoid that one of his children would overthrow him, like his father before him, so he ate them. His wife, Rhea, concealed a baby that was named Zeus by switching him with a stone in a swaddling cloth. She was able to pass off the rock as a baby. Cronus was fooled and swallowed it.
  • RESOLUTION
  • Zeus overthrow Cronus  with the help of  all his imprisoned brothers and sisters. After defeating Cronus and his siblings, they became the rulers of Gods.
  • Zeus exiles the Titans who had fought him, except for Atlas, who was forced to hold the world on his shoulders for eternity.
  • Zeus now rules  as king of gods, who live on Mt. Olympus.
