Storyboard Text

  • The Missouri Compromise was when few states were free of slaves and few were not. It was also a line splitting from the south and Missouri.
  • The cause of the compromise was that they didn't want slavery to be unfair. They believed that having on extra state slave free was unfair and needed to be changed.
  • also, the northerners had to do there own work while the southerners did not, they had slaves that did the work for them.
  • in my personal opinion, i think this was a very fir and unfair idea. it was fair because it was equal but at the same time it was unfair because slavery should slowly be coming to an end.
  • Henry Clay was the man in charge of it all. He suggested the idea of the Missouri Compromise.
  • Maine was a free state which made Missouri the state with slaves.
  • The compromise addressed the question of slavery in the rest of the Louisiana purchase.
