Farmer's are living with trashy living conditions. It's not fair that the people who provide the state with food can't provide their own families with food. If we make a strike we can get fair living conditions for them.
If we get everyone to march we can get the attention of the people and get them to stop buying grapes so that the abusive companies won't make money and then they'll listen to our demands.
Many people helped us. Everyone who helped had a huge role, but a very brave and strong woman who helped Cesar was Dolores Huerta. She helped organize the farm workers along with Chavez.
Senator Robert F. Kennedy was a huge supporter of Cesar Chavez and helped the farm workers have help from someone from the government to convince people that what they were doing is fair.
After 5 years of struggling with police, farm owners, and even immigrant farm workers being against them, they got the farm owners to cave and give them better working conditions.
Thanks to the huelgas that Chavez and the farm workers did, we can now sleep at night knowing that we have the right to an honest pay for our labor and we have rights for the workers that make the food we have on our tables.
