  • Well, you see, lead is a heavy metal that is denser than most common materials.
  • It can be used as the tool to put in mechanic pencils to write.
  • Lead can also be very dangerous though. High levels of lead can lead to damage in the kidneys and nervous system.
  • Lead is carcinogenic to humans, which means that it is a substance capable of causing cancer in living tissue.
  • Humans can be exposed to lead through inhalation and ingestion. Lead can be found mostly in the use of fossil fuels.
  • To avoid exposure to lead, you can clean dusty surfaces, keep the house clean and by washing your hands.
