It didn’t take me long to realize the opportunities that being musically literate would give me. In my just my second year of playing, I was already getting to travel from state to state to compete with my orchestra
: I was admitted into the TRI-District Arts Consortium where I was able to take my skills to the next level, and I even performed solo from a few times.
But the most important thing that I got from playing was my sense of fulfillment. Knowing that all of my hard work had paid off when the audience applauded made me feel like what I did was important.
