  • Colonists start throwing sticks and snowballs, and it only gets worse from there.
  • On March 5th, 1770, there was a small argument between British Private Hugh White and some other colonists. The argument soon escalated to colonists throwing things at the soldiers out of anger.
  • The British feel threatened, and without order, shoot at the angry mob. 5 colonists are dead, and 3 injured after this massacre.
  • After this Boston Massacre, all of Boston was in crisis. A few months later in October, followed The Boston Massacre Trials. There were two; one for Captain Preston, and one for the soldiers.
  • Not guilty.
  • Both trials that underwent had two different stories. Captain Preston said something; but the soldiers said something different. However, they were both innocent.
  • Innocent.
  • - and that's how it happened.
  • Paul Revere, a patriot, produced a drawing; or an engraving of the Boston Massacre. This was soon used as propaganda to demand the British soldiers to be sent away from Boston.
  • After all that had happened before, during, and after the Boston Massacre helped unite the colonies against Britain.
