Storyboard Text

  • The next day John O'Connor started working at the meat factory. Much to his surprise, Mr. Smith was in charge.
  • John happily went to work with chopping meat. Harming animals was not what had him in good spirits, it was finally having a paying job!
  • Nice to meet you Rob. I'm John.
  • Hey I remember you. You were behind me at the job finding center. I'm Rob.
  • My darling Cassidy...and my children! I'm glad they are awake when I come home now.
  • While in the middle of chopping a boar, a familiar man begins speaking to John.
  • Rob and John have a lofty conversation about Rob's background
  • So where are you from, Rob?
  • Oh, I'm sorry to hear about that. I'm pretty new to America so I don't know much about its history. What happened to your grandparents?
  • They survived and are free now. They live in Philadelphia.
  • Well, my grandparents were slaves. So I guess I'm from someplace in Africa. It's really hard for an African American man to find a job these days.
  • John and Rob finally got to their homes and said farewell.
  • How funny, we live next to each other! Good night, neighbor!
  • Funny indeed! Neighbor good night!
  • Well, this is my place.
  • Daddy's back!
  • How was your first day?
  • I'm glad Daddy has a job now. I just wish I could help.
  • When John came home, his family was happy to see him. He could not wait to tell them everything.
