  • The Planes Industry was hastened because of World War I. Although planes started out as wood and canvas, they soon evolved into full metal machines after further technological innovation.
  • Because of planes increased reliability in the 1920's, they were use to map out hostile lands and transport cargo, mail, and even passengers.
  • The revolution in aviation technology brought the world closer together. The first American Airport was founded in 1927 in Dearborn, Michigan. The aviator Charles Lindbergh campaigned for the World Air Code, which facilitated international air travel by mediating between different national flight regulations.
