  • This Dr John Snow, he was born into a poor family in York 1813. Dr Snow was training to be a doctor in Newcastle in 1831 and saw the cholera the devastating effects of cholera first hand.

  • It was the water pump that is causing the infection of cholera.
  • 20 Year later, Snow was working in London and became a very successful doctor. Snow believed that disease is not carried by poisonous cloud.

  • In 1854, the cholera outbreak killed 700 people in a small area of London called Soho. Dr Snow began going the street to investigate.

  • Dr Snow made an amazing discovery. He found out that all the victims got their water from the same pump in Broad Street. The other people who are not infected by the cholera got their water from other pump.
  • Dr Snow concluded that the broad street pump had human leaking into the underground water channel so he insisted that the pump should be removed to prevent more death.
  • IN the End, Dr snow save countless live from the cholera and proved that disease is not carried by poisonous cloud.
