  • Oh my goodness! The ratio of Mexicans to foriengers is 1:10.
  • There are many types of people and lots of them!
  • Law of April 6th 1830
  • We are not going to follow your stupid laws!
  • Oh no! What are we going to do?
  • Santa Anna Becomes Dictator of Mexico  1832
  • I am now the Dictator of Mexico!
  • I am already famous for my political success in Tennessee.
  • There are too many settelers arriving and way more foriengers than Mexicans. There is also no slavery allowed.
  • Sam Houston Arrives in Texas  1832

  • Stephen F. Austin
  • There are way too many illegal immigrants and most of the Anglos were  not loyal to Mexico. So the law made slavery not allowed, had to start paying taxes, no one else was allowed to move to Texas. The Anglos started to rebel.
  • The Turtle Bayou Resolutions 1832 
  • I am going to write to Mexico showing that we were loyal.
  • Santa Anna promised the Anglos that he would provide them with states' rights. That turned out to be a lie and all of Mexico was under his control.
  • Stephen F. Austin Goes to Prison  1833
  • I cannot survive in this "jail" !
  • Sam Houston was welcomed by Anglos living in Texas. Stephen F. Austin worried that Sam Houston might have come to start a war with Mexico,but that is not why he came. By 1835, Stephen F. Austin had wanted to fight a revolution against Mexico. Sam Houston became the leader of the Texan Army.

  • The Turtle Bayou Resolutions of 1832 was written to explain to Mexico that the Anglos were loyal to the Mexican Constitution of 1832. Then Santa Ana took away all the states' rights. So then they stopped supporting him.
  • Stephen F. Austin took matters into his own hands. He went on a meeting with Santa Ana, trying to get back the constitution and remove the law of April 6th. He got thrown in prison instead.
