Storyboard Text

  • Relax Before Responding
  • Present Perfect VS Present Perfect Progressive
  • Sergei is out of his seat again!? How many times have I told him-- Okay, calm down first, Mr. Terry.
  • Confront the Behavior
  • Present Perfect VS Present Perfect Progressive
  • Misha, Nastya, Dasha, thank you for staying in your seats and listening. Sergei, would you mind going back to your seat?
  • Do Not Get Entangled in Arguments
  • Present Perfect VS Present Perfect Progressive
  • So, class, as I was saying, the difference between present perfect and present perfect progressive is... Oh, by the way, remember being in your seat and listening actively are part of your daily grade.
  • But why do I have to sit down? I don't want to sit down! You can't make me!
  • When there is misbehavior, especially when it is a repeated offense from a student who seems to enjoy blatantly upsetting the teacher, the first step the teacher must take is to calm down.
  • When confrontation must occur, it helps to point out positives first, especially model behavior. Telling students what they can do might acheive more amiable results than telling them what they cannot do.
  • If the misbehaving student tries to start an argument, ignore it. Continue the lesson, but clearly state that there are consequences to misbehavior without escalating the situation.
