In this hybrid physical education course will meet once a week in class. There will be 4 groups that will complete/ rotate through the 4 modules. As well as participate in a mock basketball season while in class.
In the in class portion. Class will begin with a 10-15 minute lecture about varying topics; Basketball skills, History/rules, cardiovascular system, computer skills needed for the course. Teams will then play games , participate in practices. Students will rotate through jobs; Statisticians, Media, Rules, Social media. The 4 groups will rotate through these four groups throughout the semester.
. There will be weekly reflections based on in class lecture / in class events. Bi Weekly discussion related to specific reading in the module you are participating in.
Students will update the class Wix Page once a week. Statistician will update the league statistics/standings. Media will write an article based on the previous class. Rules committee will update with interesting basketball history facts. Social media will update social media thread.
Specific assignments based on which Module your group is in will be also discussed on the class canvas page. To avoid plagiarism, groups cannot see posts until they submit their assignment.
Final class date; Online each student will post a portfolio detailing what was learned in the course. Throughout the 4 modules.In class: Cumulative tournament celebrating efforts in class.
