Storyboard Text

  • Unfortunately, the health care insurance marketplace was not the right way to go.
  • Message To Congress:
  • Why We Need Universal Health Coverage and NOT Health Insurance
  • Doctors don't discuss money with patients when they have insurance. A doctor signs up with an HMO and has a ready made list of "customers" without ever having to develop their reputation.
  • Health Insurance Has Artificially Increased The Cost Of Health Care.
  • People don't contest the cost, because they let their insurance take care of it and if they protest, and the insurance company refuses to pay, based on that protest, the policy holder then gets stuck with the bill.
  • Health Insurance Pay Health Providers A small Fraction Of The Stated Bill Price, Sometimes As Little As 10%. Consequently, Doctors And other health providers have inflated their prices to make up the difference.
  • Play Video:
  • Everyone agrees that Americans should be able to access affordable quality health care.
  • Play Video:
  • The technical glitches of the website are the least of the problems. The biggest problem is too many choices, resulting in the same uneven health care. The cheapest plans still include percentage payments. 30% of one million dollars is still not affordable.
  • Charts:
  • Health care costs have increased exponentially. As long as insurance is involved, health care costs will remain artificially high.

  • As long as insurance is involved, we will be paying more for health care than anywhere else in the world. Even though we spend more than twice as much on health care as Japan, our life expectancy is much lower.
