  • Breaking News! After radioactive elements have been contaminated and exposed to people, all dead scientists whose research related to radiation have come to life! At the Dead Scientist Convention that will be held today, scientists Wilhelm Conard Röntgen and Antoine Henri Becquerel will explain their contributions about radiation. 
  •  Well, I was born in Paris, France on December 15, 1852. I received my scientific education from École Polytechnic and my engineering education from École des Ponts et Chaussées. I grew up in an intellectual household, where my dad did research on solar radiation and my grandfather created the electrolytic method.

  • Hello Wilhelm can you please explain to us about your life and discovery of x-rays?
  • Sure, Henri! I was born in Remscheid, Germany on March 27, 1845. I partially received an education in Utrecht Techincal School where I was expelled, and then I received my formal education at the Polytechnic in Zurich.
  •  I was examining a phenomenon of rays having a fluorescent effect on barium platinocyanide when electric currents are passed.  I conducted more experiments with other objects in the path of the rays and then asked my wife to place her hand in the rays’ path.The photographic plates showed shadows cast by her bones. This was because of x-rays
  • Wow ok, my discovery influenced your's and then your discovery influenced the Curies. Well, Henri, that's all of what we discovered in radiation, so I guess its time to leave. Bye.
  • I concluded that x-rays have an extremely short wavelength and high frequency. My discovery demonstrated different types of atoms with unstable nuclei that emit different levels of radiation. So Henri, what about your discovery? 
  • I researched your experiment and saw that there was phosphoresce in the tubes with the x-rays, and wondered if it was naturally occurring. I put uranium salts to capture the lights on the photographic plates and saw that the plate fogged. Even without the phosphorescence of sunlight, it fogged. I knew it wasn't x-rays because it was deflecting magnetic fields. It was actually emitting energy because it was radioactive. 
  • I discovered radioactivity and concluded that same chemical elements with different masses can have an unstable nucleus and emit energy through radiation. I also classified the radioactivity through negative, positive, and neutral, based on the deflection. This discovery demonstrated that atom could change form and emit an enormous amount of energy, but still could neither be destroyed nor separated.
