George and Lennie are out in the brush sitting next to a campfire talking about there dream. Their dream is like the american dream back in the day thus meaning their dream won't come true.
Chapter 6 pg 106
"Let's get that place now."
"Sure, right now. I gotta. We gotta."
George and Slim are talking how George got to know Lennie and why he travels with him. THey also talk how most people don't travel in groups and aren't fun which shows that traveling in groups is better.
Lennie is feeling Curley's wife's hair when he accidentally snaps her neck after he already killed a puppy which shows how strongLennie really is and how much trouble he is.
George has to shoot Lennie as a result of all the bad things Lennie did recently. Also George is doing it because he remembers Candy saying that he wishes he had killed his dog and Gorge didn't want that to happen. He also did it because Curley was going to torture Lennie by shooting him in the gut. This action showed the end of the dream for George and Lennie.
