  • FREE MENDELA WE WANT JUSTICE NOW
  • WE HAVE OUR RIGHTS, WE'ER PEOPLE TO
  • -Whites and Colored people separated because their new government system called Apartheid -Laws put many restrictions on nonwhites. Couldn't vote or participate in any national government
  • Stage 3: Revolution
  • OPEN FIRE!!!!
  • Colored people didn't like the laws that were made because they strongly targeted colored people -segregated schools, jobs, etc. -no government jobs or participation for colored people
  • Stage 4: Recovery
  • They did many peaceful protest -boycotting south African goods, boycotting the government, going on strike, and doing marches
  • In 1960 south African officers shot and killed 69 people that took action in the peaceful demonstration in Sharpeville, South Africa. They also arrested Nelson Mandela who was one of the leaders of the ANC
  • F.W. De Klark became president and released Mandela after 25 years of Jail time. F.W. & Mandela made a plan to change the government in South Africa, Soon they had the first all-race election and Mandela won and became the first black president
